Experience a true stadium sensation in the “Alte Eisstadion” (Old Ice Stadium). Not far from Mannheim Baroque Palace, up to 5,000 fans gather here during European and World Championships to get up close to the action. And it works. One Mexican wave follows another in front of the 36m² LED screen, transforming major sporting events into visual highlights. On site, Mannheim’s very own Eichbaum brewery is on hand to quench your thirst with well-chilled beverages, and there are plenty of tempting treats from the grill to enjoy too. A special bonus is provided by Udo Scholz, stadium announcer of the Adler Mannheim ice hockey team, who will be providing additional commentary on the action and will be your host on World Cup evenings. Even if the weather doesn’t play ball, you will definitely stay dry inside the covered stadium.

The big screen on which all World Cup matches will be broadcast for you under the Mannheim summer sky is roughly 5 metres wide and 3 metres high. The OEG City Beach also leaves nothing to be desired in terms of refreshment. Football fever is the name of game on the other side of the River Neckar too. Here, where people usually come to enjoy concerts, readings and parties, all of Germany’s games will be broadcast live and in colour on the large screen in the big hall. Fans of other international teams are more than welcome too. You can cheer on your own side in the cosy café bar, which is located on the ground floor of the south tower of the Alte Feuerwache.
