The Protestant Christ church impresses with its sheer size. Its round dome can be seen from far away and towers above even the nearby "Wasserturm" (water tower). With its magnificent neo-baroque exterior, the Christ church blends beautifully into the surrounding villa district on the eastern side of the city. Completed in 1911, the Protestant church is considered the most imposing sacred building in Mannheim. There is plenty to discover inside as well. For example, the north gallery is home to one of the largest and most impressive organs in Germany.
Top tip: Don't miss the chance to visit the Christ church. From March to November, it is open for reflection and sightseeing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 17:00.
