In the spacious courtyard of Mannheim Baroque Palace, you will start the tour accompanied by a “witness of the times”, who will transport you into an epoch of splendour and grandeur. The church located in the palace grounds reveals the splendour that prevailed at court in times gone by. Directly opposite stands one of the city’s most important historic aristocratic houses, the Palais Bretzenheim, which holds a secret about the Elector Carl Theodor. From there, you head to the Schillerplatz where the Jesuitenkirche (Jesuit Church) stands as a unique jewel of Baroque architecture. The tour then moves on to the “Paradeplatz”, bringing you slowly back to the present day accompanied by numerous antics and anecdotes.
